We are an insurance intermediary with the aim of making travel insurance accessible to as many people as possible, making the purchasing process as simple and transparent as possible. We use third parties to provide the insurance products and related services such as call centre and claims handling. We hold these third parties to account for the excellent service we expect for our customers and monitor their processes through due diligence and regular interaction, ensuring the same high standard of service is provided to customers as we provide ourselves.

What role do we play in the data privacy process?

We are a data controller and will continuously strive to do all we can to protect the data provided by you. We adhere to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).

What personal information do we collect and why?

For visitors of atozinsurance.com, when obtaining a travel insurance quote or purchasing a policy, the following personal or sensitive information captured could include, but is not necessarily limited to;

  • Name
  • Contact details including email address, phone number and address
  • Date of birth
  • Medical history

Payment details

We would also capture other types of information including but not limited to trip details, type of cover you are looking for or your IP address.

Why do we collect this data?

The information collected allows us to meet our contractual obligations with you to provide the service you have requested. It allows us to provide a quote for travel insurance, the price of which can vary by risk factors such as age or medical history. It enables our administrator or underwriter to issue you with your policy information. We also use the information to contact you if required, to service your policy, or for us to find your policy information if you contact us, this includes any amends you may want to make to your policy and allow our third party to process any travel insurance claims for you.

Payment information is processed through a PCI-DSS compliant payment provider. At A to Z, we will no have visibility of card information keyed into the purchase page, as it will be held securely with the payment provider under strict rules and regulations relating to PCI compliance.

Who do we share information with and why?

We share information with trusted third parties involved in providing quotes, selling policies, administering policies, servicing policies and handling any claims made on a policy. We ensure that any parties we share data with also adhere to the GDPR.

We will not share your information with anyone else unless you consent for us to do so, or we are required by regulators or by law enforcement agencies. We do not sell any information to anyone.

  • To tell you about products or services that may be of interest to you
